Welcome Back
It was lovely to welcome the children back on Monday and especially nice to be able to welcome our new Year 3 who seem to have settled in very well indeed! We also formally welcome Mr Evans who is covering our Caretaker role for the moment, Mrs Bradley who is working with Miss Hillier in Blue Class as well as Mrs Miles and Ms Prosser who are providing our regular PPA and ALNCo release time.
Music Lessons
All instrumental music lessons should resume next week. We are expecting Guitar lessons to resume on Monday, Brass on Wednesday and Woodwind on Thursday. We are waiting for confirmation of the days for Violin and Cello. The termly charge of £30 needs to be paid by September 28th. If no payment is received we will assume that you no longer wish your child to receive the lessons.
Y6 Secondary School Applications
Although our Year 6 children have only been Year 6 for a few days, Year 6 parents should have received the letter concerning application to Secondary School.
SeeSaw
Please make sure that you are signed up to SeeSaw. This is probably the most useful and effective of our communication methods and has worked very well since we expanded its use in response to the pandemic. All classes now use it.
School Dinners
The school dinner price has been increased to £2.20. We have received an apology from Caerphilly Catering as this price increase was not passed on to either parents or schools and their website, up until yesterday, still had the old price on it.
Extra-Curricular Clubs
The activities offered are in the table below. This table also details the year groups able to access the specific clubs and the terms the clubs are available.
After-School Clubs will take place from 3.10pm – 4.10pm and will start in Week 3 of term (w/c 19th September). For the autumn term, with the nights drawing in we need the children to be picked up from school after these clubs.
Complete the form below and send it to the school office to indicate which clubs your child would like to join. This should be returned to school by Wednesday 14th September. As places for some of the clubs are limited it is important that we receive these forms as soon as possible. All club registers should be confirmed by Friday 16th September and you will be informed if your child has a place.
All the clubs provided by school staff are free however, as the Skateboarding Club is being provided by an external tutor there will be a cost. This will be detailed with the documents that will be sent home with the children who have indicated on the form below that they would like to attend this activity.
