Inclement Weather
With the approaching winter we are facing not only the issues of ice and snow but also the need to maintain our ‘Covid’ arrangements for dropping off and picking up. As always, any decision we take will be governed by the desire to keep everyone as safe as we possibly can. Although we will try to do everything possible to keep the arrangements as they are now there could be mornings where we have to adjust things at extremely short notice. Any changes made will be communicated as soon as we are able via the school website and the Text2Parents service. Thank you in advance for your understanding with this.
Communications – COVID
Please ensure that you have registered on the new website - https://www.bedwasrhydri.school in order to receive an e-mail notification should a class need to be closed. We also have the Text2Parents service which will enable you to receive any closure notifications immediately. Please contact the school office to give permission for your details to be added to this service if you would also like notifications by text.
There is now also the possibility of children and staff being required to isolate because of a positive case in their bubble in the last week of school. This would lead to them having to isolate through the greater part of the Christmas Holiday so, as always we need keep following the Welsh Government guidance in order to do all we can to avoid this situation.
Face Coverings
Thank you for your co-operation in following the new Welsh Government guidance on this; the letter with the information that WG asked us to share is on the school website.
Christmas Cards
Covid has also infiltrated something as simple as Christmas Cards! Children are welcome to bring in cards for other children and staff who are in their bubble and the post boxes have been made ready in each class to receive them. However, we know that lots of children will want to send cards to friends in other bubbles.
To help with this we are trying out a ‘Covid-proof’ solution. The children will be able to design a card on Purple Mash in a specially designed activity on that platform and will then be able to e-mail it to however many of their friends they want using Hwbmail in school. Each class will also be carrying out Christmas activities; we hope that this will help to keep things as normal as possible as this year has been anything but normal for them (and all of us!).

Flu Immunisation
Letters and consent forms for the Flu immunisation taking place in school on the 11th December have been sent out. Please return the consent forms as soon as possible in order for them to be passed on to the School Nurse team.

There will be slightly different arrangements for the very youngest children! Each class will also be carrying out Christmas activities; we hope that this will help to keep things as normal as possible as this year has been anything but normal for them (and all of us!).
