Dear Parent / Carer,

The Snoopy Trail

The Rhydri Snoopy is now ready! Every class in the school has contributed to the impressive finished article. Our Snoopy will be placed on a walking trail from 8th April – 5th June as part of an initiative to support the Dogs Trust and we will be taking part in fundraising activities later in the year for that charity. Special thanks to Mrs Gettings for leading on this! When his promotional work is done he will be returning permanently to Rhydri.

NSPCC Number Day Friday 4th February

We are having a fun day of maths activities as part of NSPCC’s ‘Dress up for Digits’ day. Pupils are asked to wear an item of clothing with a number on it (football shirt, cap, netball shirt or even a onesie!). or get even more creative by dressing in a maths or numbers theme. To help raise money for the NSPCC, we are asking for a suggested donation of £2, and we’d love everyone in the school to take part in this special event. If you are able to contribute then please send your donation to support the NSPCC’s work in a sealed envelope.

Colorfoto

Colorfoto are visiting us on Tuesday 15th February to take individual photos.

Visitors to Gold Class

This week the children of Gold Class were visited by Lauren from the ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ initiative; she delivered a presentation to them on this important issue. It was also good for Gold Class to be able to welcome back representatives from Gwent Police who will supporting in the return of the Rhydri Heddlu Bach.

Feeling Frosty!

This week the children in Foundation Phase enjoyed a science day where they explored ice. They even rescued toys from blocks of ice! This was part of their ‘Jack Frost’ theme. Brrrrr!

Manor Adventure

The final balance for the residential trip needs to be paid by Friday 18th February.

Cashless Catering

A reminder that we are moving to the new cashless system run by CCBC and need to have all accounts clear of debt before the switch over. The deadline for this is Friday 18th February as the system goes live on the first day back after half-term.
