Cardiff City Football Club

It has been a pleasure to welcome a sports coach from Cardiff City Football Club who is taking multiskills sports session with our KS2 children as well as offering an after-school football club to Gold Class this half-term. Although things are not quite back to normal it is good to be able to take some small steps in that direction!

British Sign Language and First Aid Sessions

Both Silver Class and Gold Class were visited by a British Sign Language teacher from New Directions last week; he was very impressed with both classes who learnt how to sign some famous songs. Gold Class also received a First Aid session on the same day designed specifically for children in Years 5 and 6.

Colorfoto

Colorfoto are visiting us on Tuesday 15th February to take individual photos.’

Governors’ Annual Report to Parents 2020-2021

This report has now been published and is accessible via the Governors’ section of the federation’s website (address above).

Cashless Catering

We are moving to the new cashless system run by CCBC and need to have all accounts with no debt before the switch over. The deadline for this is Friday 18th February as the system goes live on the first day back after half-term.

Book Week

As part of our Book Week celebrations all classes enjoyed a virtual session with the author Nicola Davies who messaged both schools after her sessions to compliment the children (and staff!) for the way in which they interacted with her.

Music Lessons

Payment for this term’s music lessons needs to be made by Friday 28th January. If payment is not received by that date we will assume that you no longer wish your child to receive tuition.

Potential Class Closures

A reminder – Where the staffing levels available in school become unviable there will be the need to temporarily close one or more classes and move to remote learning as a short term solution for those particular groups. This route would only be taken where no other safe option was available. Should this be necessary you will be notified via the school blog, class communication platform (e.g. SeeSaw) and the school texting service. Learning will continue online during the period of class closure.
