Update regarding Welsh Government Announcement
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope that you are all well.
This afternoon Kirsty Williams announced that all Foundation Phase children in Wales will return to school by the end of the first week after half-term.
Rhydri’s Foundation Phase - We will be working on our response to this afternoon’s announcement and will communicate our plan with you as soon as it has been finalised, hopefully by the middle of next week. There are still guidance documents we are waiting for from Welsh Government that we need before we can sign off our plans.
Key Stage 2 Children in Bedwas Juniors and Rhydri - At a Welsh Government session this morning the WG representative (Steve Davies) stated that they want to monitor the impact of the Foundation Phase children’s return to school before committing to a return for our Key Stage 2 children (years 3-6) so as far as we know, remote learning will continue for these children for the immediate future. As soon as we know anything more it will be shared with you.
The current provision for the children of critical workers and vulnerable learners will continue in both schools.
Teachers will be available to support remote learning for four days this coming week and will set work with this in mind as Friday is an INSET day for teaching and support staff in both schools who will be carrying out training relating to Additional Learning Needs and professional learning in maths.
Stay safe and look after yourselves.
