Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you are well as we move cautiously through another lockdown. It is a strange time for all of us and I never thought I’d be running a school in a way where there is such a tricky combination of remote learning and critical worker provision.
Remember to keep in touch with us so that we can help; you can contact us via Teams , SeeSaw or an by old fashioned phone-call. Many of us are trying to juggle work and home-schooling too so understand some of the challenges you face.
Our Deputy Head, Miss Bodenham has been successful in obtaining a secondment to the Educational Psychology Service for the next 10 weeks. This is an excellent opportunity for her and we wish her the best. Until she returns to us for the summer term, two members of staff will be stepping up to take on the temporary roles of Assistant Head Teachers with one post on either site. Mr Ankin will be the Assistant Head in Bedwas and Mrs K Banks will be Assistant Head in Rhydri. Congratulations to them both on their appointments; this arrangement will help with the smooth and safe running of our two schools during these challenging times.
To work with Miss Hillier in Blue Class now that Miss Bodenham is on secondment, Mrs S Banks (currently in a job-share in Orange Class) will move to Blue. This means that Mrs Beeby’s hours have now been extended to cover Orange Class full-time. This structure should provide the least amount of disruption possible for the children.
We have no further updates on the school closures beyond the information shared after the initial WG announcement but will inform you of any changes to future plans as soon as we are able.
