Rhydri Primary School - Return to school

Rhydri Primary – Return to School

Although the return to school concerns the KS2 children it will impact on the start and finish arrangements for our Foundation Phase children. These will now revert to the way they were before Christmas.

Foundation Phase - Gates will be opened at 8.35am for the children to come onto site ready for an 8.45am start. This means that the end of the school day for Foundation Phase will be 3.15pm; as usual, children in Rainbow class will be able to be collected a few minutes before in order to allow parents to pick up on time from Bronze Class if they have children in both.

Key Stage 2 – Children will be able to come onto site from 8.50am for a 9am start. They will finish school at 3.30pm.

We had to introduce the staggered start and finish times to help reduce the number of people on our site at any one time.

As was the case in the previous term we will be as flexible as we can; to that end-

  • If you have a child in both phases then you can choose which of the drop-off windows is most convenient for you and drop both children at the same time.

  • For pick-up, if you have a child in both phases then your child in KS2 can be picked up at the same time as their younger sibling(s).

For the first week back Catering have requested that all KS2 pupils bring a packed lunch. They are hoping to resume school meal provision from the second week back.

Breakfast Club continues to be closed at the moment.

Arrangements were working well in the autumn and we appreciated everyone’s co-operation. We need to ensure that we continue to follow guidance with the full return; parents / carers collecting or dropping off children will need to wear a mask and make every effort to leave the site (and car park) as quickly as it is safe to do so. Rhydri is a lovely site but not blessed with the best parking / pavement / road access!
